We are currently looking for a design intern for the Spring 2020. This is an amazing opportunity to enter into the world of fashion and to learn the full aspects of our small but quickly growing business. The overall goal for the internship is to get a better understanding of the design process and to gain hands on experience about the ins and outs of running a fashion brand. This is a paid internship and the intern is eligible to receive school credit in addition to pay.

Internship compensation:  $10/hour*

Additional compensation: %20 Merchandise discount

Work location: One location - Columbia, MD

Benefits: Flexible schedule

Availability required: 2 days per week 

Minimum hours: 6-10 hours weekly

 

Qualifications:

​

• Must have valid US work authorization at the time of the internship

• Must be enrolled in Fashion Design/Fashion Merchandising college level program or university 

• Available a minimum of 2 days per week

• Proficiency in Photoshop and Illustrator

• Very connected and savvy in all relevant social networks and online tools

• Strong knowledge of, and passion for, social media and fashion

• Strong communication skills

• 1 to 2 years of hand/machine sewing experience (preferred)

• Reliable and able to meet deadlines

• Very organized, detail-oriented and self sufficient

The intern will assist with the following tasks:

​

• Managing the company’s social media profiles and e-commerce, and building relationships within these platforms across the web

• Daily communications with overseas and internal partners

• Sourcing fabrics and trims

• Pattern making, cutting and sewing

• Building and organizing blocks

• Grading patterns

• Hand sewing and embellishments

• Developing tech packs

• Photo shoots

• Fittings
